A message from our president
|
Hi everyone! My name is Nicky Burke and I’m a senior Economics and Marketing major from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the very beginning of last semester, I was asked to describe DSP in one word, and the first word that came to mind was “home.” This organization has given me the privilege of growing in my relationships with my siblings, but has also shown me what family looks like beyond blood. I pledged my first semester freshman year, and I haven’t known a Clemson without DSP. I never imagined three years ago that I would have the honor to serve as the President for a chapter that has given so much to me.
While the brothers in this chapter, both our current members and alumni, have inspired me with their incredible drive and involvement, I’ve come to realize there’s something that impressed me far beyond one of getting a good grade or an internship. It is our continuous commitment to supporting each other and growing as a chapter. DSP has a beautiful blend as a professional business fraternity rooted in our core pillars of Professionalism, Scholarship, and Community Service, and most importantly, in Brotherhood that has made me the person I am today. I don’t believe leadership is about having all the answers, but about listening, learning, and growing alongside the people you serve. Our brothers are the heart of this organization, and each of them brings a unique perspective that makes DSP what it is. I’m incredibly honored to be part of such a special organization and excited for what this semester will bring! |
